The top picture is a view from my roof in the Dilli Bazzar area of Kathmandu. TV is something Nepali kids love just as much as us Americans. The best (and i mean best by extremely bad and cheesy) is the Indian serials (soap operas) Indu watches (center). First off, the acting is terrible. Second, they do these long melancholly, crying, staring into the distance scenes that shows the certain charactor is troubled by the intense Hindu drama. Lastly, they do these “pan ins”. When something bad happens, and trust me, not many happy things are happening in the Indian soap world, the camera quickly pans into the actors face multiple times, accompanied by a thunder sound effect to add to the drama. It is terrible!
The kids names are Cheeroj, I simply call him King Cheeto because a. i forget his name all the time and b. he gets what he wants. When he is upset about something he starts spouting off incredibly fast Nepalese with a pained and determined look on his face. Ekesha is the name of the 14 year old girl. Without her, I would be screwed because her english is immaculate. Anuj is the poppa of this beuatiful family and I have not found a picture I like of him yet, so please wait for the future.
