stmarys 2stmarys 1I’ve realized in the past few years, the only place, or anything for that matter,  that has held my heart for a period of time is st. mary’s lookout.  the only ’stability’ in my life has come to me in the form of a mountain home atop a 9,350 ft beast of a peak 4 miles into the Bitterroot Selway wilderness.  breathing fresh mountain air, listening to mysterious, far-off waterfalls, plucking out banjo songs that shouldn’t be played on banjo, and going insane in the best introspective way possible; nothing and nobody has offered me more energy than this place.  the lookout allows me to dream BIG and I am thankful that the universe hooked me and the good ol’ mary up.

I’ve sketched and wrtiten alot in the past week, so i am going to start sharing some of my insanity here.  i hope someone enjoys it.

Heaviness is the root of lightness.

July 04th, 2009 | Category: me, rant

Heavieness is the root of lightness.

Serenity is the master of restlessness.

Therefore, the Sage, travelling all day,

Does not part with the baggage-wagon;

Though there may be gorgeous sights to see,

He stays at ease in his own home.

Why should a lord of ten thousand chariots

Display his lightness to the world?

To be light is to be separated from from one’s root;

To be restless is to lose one’s self-mastery.
