Bartabanda, or the Brahman coming of age ceremony, is a ceremony in the Hindu religion that every young boy must complete to ritually cremate his parents in later life. For the ceremony, buffalo, goat, and chicken blood is spilt in honor of the temple’s deity. Kathmandu, Nepal. February 2008.
